A stunning antique sapphire and diamond cluster ring. This striking piece features a large, deep blue sapphire of approximately 1.4 carat weight, surrounded by a halo of 12 rose cut diamonds. The gems are set open-backed in a silver surround, with a 20ct Portuguese yellow gold bezel, gallery and band.
Stamped with assay mark for Lisbon, Portugal (1887-1937) and unidentified maker's mark.
Size: N (US 7). Resizable within reason.
Weight (approximate): 3.2g
Measurements (approximate): Sapphire measures 9mm x 7mm. Ring head measures 16.5mm x 14.5mm. Diamonds measure 2mm in diameter; total diamond weight estimated at a minimum of 0.35ct.
Condition: Good, with minimal signs of wear commensurate with age. There are a few small scratches and nicks to the sapphire, little to no wear to the facet edges, and some colour zoning and inclusions (one almost surface reaching). The sapphire has good depth of colour and the diamonds are bright and lively. Please see pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions.
