An exquisite antique Victorian era (1837-1901) diamond engagement ring dating to 1868. The ring features a stunning old European cut diamond (approximately 0.3 ct) held in a white gold prong setting. The 15ct yellow gold band is embellished with delicate foliate engraving to its entire circumference. Measurements (approximate): Diamond is 4.5mm in diameter (approximately 0.3ct). Band is 3.5mm wide, tapering to 1.75mm at the rear.
Condition: Very good, with wear commensurate with age. The diamond is bright, white and lively, with no damage of note. The engraving is slightly rubbed. The band is slightly out of round. Please see pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions.
