An exquisitely made antique Victorian era (1837-1901) figural fob in the form of a trumpet in 15ct yellow gold. The bell of the trumpet holds a bloodstone intaglio, reverse carved with the romantic declaration 'would I were with thee!'. The fob has its original bale for wear as a pendant.
No stamps are present, but the gold tests as 15ct.
Weight (approximate): 3.5g
Measurements (approximate): 24mm x 9mm (not including jump ring).
Condition: Very good, with wear commensurate with age. The intaglio is in excellent condition, with some minor nicks to the edges visible only when viewed under magnification. There is light wear and marks to the gold, and some tarnish to the inner surfaces of the trumpet's pipe and mouthpiece. Overall, a delightful piece in fantastic condition for it's age.
NOTE: chain shown in photo is not included.
Cost includes shipping and full insurance coverage for loss or damage in transit.
