An exquisite antique Victorian era (1837-1901) watch key in yellow gold casing. In Victorian times, watch keys were worn on fobs to wind pocket watches. Although they were functional, they were still made with attention to detail and style, and today they make lovely pendants or charms.
This watch key has an rectangular face and a rotating bale, with a bright carnelian panel to one side and agate on the other. It is cased in gold and features ornate hand chased engraving to both the body and bale of the key.
No hallmarks present.
Measures approximately: 38mm (including bale) x 15mm.
Condition: Good with wear commensurate with age. There are some minor losses to the gold casing. The hardstone panels have some minor wear. Please see pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions.
