An incredibly well-preserved pair of Whitby jet earrings date to the Victorian period (1837-1901). With large, teardrop-shaped plaques, the earrings are set with applique flowers carved in relief, with French jet bead accents. Each drop is suspended from a hinge, also carved in jet, which allows them to swing and reflect light from their smooth, lustrous surface. With shepherd hooks and findings in silver, these spectacular earrings are truly a rare and coveted find.
