An elegant antique mourning ring dating to the Victorian era (1837-1901). Set with an oval-shaped panel of black agate with a single white band at its center, the shoulders of this stunning ring are decorated with black enamel in a scrolled foliate design. The band is 18ct yellow gold, and the inner rim bears the inscription 'Jane Lahee, obt 20 March 1866 at 69'.
Size K ½ (US 5.75). Resizing not recommended due to the enamel work on the shoulders.
Fully stamped for 18ct gold, London, 1865. Maker's mark 'T.E' (possibly 'Thomas Edwards').

Measurements (approximate): Band measures 12mm at widest point, tapering to 3mm at the rear.
Condition: Good, with wear commensurate with age. The agate panel is in good condition with no notable damage (small nicks to the edges can be seen under magnification). There are losses to the enamel, particularly at the extremities. Please see pictures for details and don't hesitate to ask questions.
